I don't know if there is a flaw in my pen, or if it's jus the new design, but the nozzle of my pen attachment barely protrudes from the housing, and It's virtually impossible to see what you were working on. All of the reference images on the web and ion the documentation show the tip protruding much farther than mine does.

I asked the same two months ago, the "new" design I received really hides the nozzle, it is impossible to print, you can not see it. I got respond from support, that they really made this change in last days, but they are planning to release update in next week which will help with this issue. When I downloaded the update from github later on (still the same version), I realized that this is the same version as I recevied, the stupid one. Maybe you will have more luck to convince the designer, that seeing what you are printing is quite important for such a tool :-( This design was made to protect the nozzler from being broken, they had such an issues with the older design, but this is really not a solution. It is like you protect it by covering at all.

I ended up just using the foam cutting attachment and cutting of the top portion of the housing and sanding it down clean. The ceramic tip doesn't have much give without the included support, and I do not see why proper use of the tool would lead to it breaking without the additional support so I'm happy with it now. This was also a good test for the foam cutter, which easily cut through the ABS housing.

Was there any update on the design since? I'm considering buying the Simo Kit 2, and struggling to find decent reviews online. Most are for the Pro (none 3d printed one). I figured going for the kit made sense, as I have a 3d printer and can then easily repair if things go wrong. Mainly buying one to fix 3d prints to be honest, and tweak things.
