Description

When starting any guide, if you are far enough away that the step says "Too far away, visit a flight path". You can skip forward a few steps then skip back to where you started and the game will now drop frame rate like 90%+ and it will never recover if you stay on the same zone route.

For a very precise description of it, see the reproduction section

Reproduction Steps

  • Fresh Character
  • Open APR and make a custom path, doesn't matter. I used Arathi Highlands as my first step
  • The first step is to accept the quest Qaue and Kinelory, but since I am in Stormwind the tracker says "Too far away, visit a flight and fly to Refuge Point, Arathi Highlands"
  • Skip forward a few steps, then skip back to the first step
  • The game now drops from 120 FPS to ~10
  • This lasts forever so long as you have Arathi Highlands as your currently loaded route. Reloading, restarting the game, etc. will not fix it. You can only remove Arathi (or whatever zone you used) from your route and only load other zone routes to get your FPS back.
  • The only way to fix the zone and allow yourself to use it again is to delete the APR-Core.lua file from your Saved Variables

Having major issues like this in MOP:R as well. Locks up everything and lags like crazy.
