In another PR we were discussing the software request process, a question came up about 'unoffical' or software that we are trying out which may not be approved yet. Moving this to a new issue, and pasting the question below:
what are your thoughts around the criteria or threshold for figuring out when a request needs to be made. Many of us have admin access on our machines. The other day, for example, I downloaded and installed the Atom text editor. I also installed iMovie (using my Apple ID through the App Store). Going through the suggested process here for something like these examples seems unnecessary. Is it only for software that requires a paid license?
Also, if the request is about adding to an existing team license, we currently have different licenses managed by different people. So is the idea that whoever is responding to these help desk tickets is responsible for tracking down the right person?
