At the state of the art, I think it is better that line will be removed because now it has not value. If needed, it could be re-added in the future.
Since AL agreed to move to 0BSD license, what if you re-create the COPYING file by using 0BSD GitHub license template so, when a user clicks on it, he/she can have a summarized view like:
as occurs, for example, on Nixpkgs (MIT licensed).
After reading AL news, I started to check what was our licensing for PKGBUILD.
All our PKGBUILDs have this mention:
COPYING
It contains this sentence:
The issue is, we don't have a
AUTHORS
file anymore since 2014 as we track contributors via git.COPYING
seems to be BSD 3-Clause License unless there is the previously mentioned sentence added to the list of conditions.Since we don't plan to add an AUTHORS file, we should remove this line.
