Cosy octopus

I’m shortly going to be moving from Agile to cosy octopus. Are there any entities for this tariff that are exposed with this tariff? Or with it being a tariff with fixed time periods would I have to just create my own time based entities in home assistant to control heating/hot water etc?

The main entities will stay the same, but adjust (e.g. previous/current/next rates will change less frequently).

Some other entities will also be exposed where you have rate breakdowns (e.g. where you have entities for off peak/peak, you'll have a new third entity of standard)

Ah so there is still API access for this tariff too.

I assume all I’ll need to do then is swap my current target rate entity which is based on cheapest agile rates and swap it for the off peak entity - which I guess would just be an on/off switch of when off peak is active or not.

when I change tariff do I have to do anything special with the integration (delete/reconfigure) or does everything change automatically?

When you change it should hopefully change automatically. The target rate entities will automatically adapt when you change (they don't just apply to agile tariffs), so if you ever switch back they can go back. But obviously up to you :)

Was hoping I didn’t have to make too many breaking changes it would be easy to go back to agile in the future - I may well do over summer if it becomes more favourable cost-wise.

I’ll see how I get on.
