Is there an example of how to integrate Tiamat with the compose lifecycle API. I would like to execute some code when the Apps transition from background to foreground. And also persist some data any time the App is stopped.

Hi there.
It depends on platfor you using:

Android: already implements lifecycle -> you can use LocalLifecycleOwner.current to get an lf-owner
Other platforms -> no direct plans to impl lifecycle YET!!! there is a solutions (let me know if it is your case)

And also persist some data any time the App is stopped -> you can save it in the ViewModel (onClose method) as option.... (you can save a whole nav state if you need 8) see ArchCustomSaveState.kt)

Let me know what platform you use and when do you need to save data (app close / screen close / android app goes background) - so i can provide an additional tips

Well, the concept comes from Android but I want the same Lifecycle concept on all platforms. In fact the Lifecycle package is already multiplatform. These are the equivalent events/state in other platforms:

I think you gave me an idea with your code snippet. Seems like that is all I need. And it should work on every platform.

Nise. As for desctop there is no concept of app-s goes bg - it is just open-close, so DisposableEffect filling all needs, that's why i didnt add it to all platforms. Feel free to ask if you need any other help.

Traditionally, there is no concept of lifecycle on other platforms except iOS. Most desktop dev use these APIs as they need for different features. Like Window minimize/restore, Window focus lost/gain, display power sleep/awake and such. You are right there is no the Lifecycle concept, however, this concept is really handy especially these days where most Apps try to optimize system resources consumption.
So I think it would be very useful having an example of this.
If I get it to work I will publish the work

I'd say i like the idea to hande desktop minimze/resotre evenst close to Androids pause/resume...
The question here should it be part of nav-lib or some extension on window class... will take a look.

I wonder 🤔 the same. Many "navigation" libraries have integration with the App lifecycle but I agree lifecycle is more of a state management thing. Perhaps as a separate package/extension.
