help required for compset F2010-SCREAMv1 with ne120

Dear All,

I have created new case using compset F2010-SCREAMv1 with ne120 resolution. Case has been created and , case.setup completed succesfully without any error. When i do the ./case.build, I am getting below mentioned error during the building stage : E3SM/share/build/buildlib.kokkos
Error mentioned in SR_FCAST_F2010-SCREAMv1_ne120/bld/kokkos.bldlog.250130-173237 is as follows

Hard to tell. The lines you mention are completely inside the std library, which is unlikely to be the issue. I assume there may be other lines in the error stack that may refer to what's actually triggering it.

Also, we don't know what machine/compiler you are using, and what compiler flags and cmake options you are using.

"--res ne30pg2_ne30pg2 --compset F2010-SCREAMv1" should be the arguments.

Thank you for the quick response. Tried with both ne30pg2_ne30pg2 and ne30_ne30 . Both of them gives same error

param-shivay is not one of our supported machines, so you're a bit on your own here. We don't know what's the in the entry you added to config_machines.xml, nor do we know what is in the gnu_param-shivay.cmake macro file you added (I am assuming you did these steps).

As you know e3sm does not offer support on new machines, but if you could share those files, maybe we could see if anything obvious jumps out.

Were you able to build a regular F-case? Try --res ne4pg2_oQU480 --compset F2010

Dear Luca, Thank you for the response. I have tried to make the changes necessary for the unsupported platform as mentioned in the config_machines.xml and intel_param-shivay.cmake attached herewith. Kindly go through the same and suggest suitable changes. There's nothing attached. Replying from your email (as opposed as commenting from the gh website) does not always work as intended. I recommend you go on github.com and write your replies from there.

Please find the attached files. Github is giving error while attaching .cmake and.xml files so converted those into *.txt and attached herewith.

Nothing jumps out. Perhaps your compiler is picking up a wrong stdlibc++ library (maybe an old one). You can look at the exact compile line for the file that fails to compile, and see if anything stands out (e.g., no std=c++17 flag, or similar). Perhaps compare those flags with what you get on another machine where things work. Maybe even try to switch compilers (or machine).

It's hard for us to help you without direct access to the machine and the bld files, and I am afraid that you are on your own, given that this is not a machine we officially support.
