Describe the bug

This is basically forwarded from BestImageViewer/geeqie#997 .
When displaying the image I've uploaded there, geequie freezes, which is apparently caused by exiv2.

Desktop (please complete the following information):
  • OS and version: Debian unstable
  • libexiv2: 0.27.5
