Whenever I try to connect a VM to GNS3 (using either VMware or VirtualBox), I consistently encounter issues.

VMware

  • After starting the VM, I cannot add links to it or connect it to other devices in GNS3.
  • The only "solution" I've found is to allow GNS3 to manage the VM's network interfaces. However, this causes the VM's network interfaces to disappear entirely, making it impossible to pass any traffic through the VM.

VirtualBox

  • As soon as I boot the VM through GNS3, the VM's screen remains black.
  • I tried increasing the video memory to fix this, but it didn’t help.

For context, I’m using GNS3 version 2.2.42, as it seems to be the most stable version for macOS ARM.
