Description

Since the penultimate update I have a problem on the C100, the Floodlight duration maximum time is only 30 minutes, I use the camera in home assistant to keep an eye on my 3D printer using the picture in picture, my printer is not next to my computer. Before the penultimate update the Floodlight stayed on indefinitely now after at most 30 minutes(depending on what is set) it switches off and the image goes almost dark so I need to login to home assistant and reset it, I created a button to switch the floodlight on again as a work around but its annoying especially when busy. Home assistant is all up to date and is running on a headless Pi5 all my camera software is also up to date. Thanks for your work on this project.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Go to HA
  2. Select the image of the Camera
  3. Click on image and select the 3lower dots(more options) and the picture in picture
  4. The image is displayed for maximum 30 minutes and then goes almost black.

I have tried selecting the various other entities like SD recording and the others that give the camera image and all do the same after 30 minutes.(the 30 minutes is the maximum selectable time)
On a side note I have also a problem with selecting the intensity like reported on the C410

Expected behavior

I expected the camera floodlight to stay on permanently when in use as it did before the last 2 updates

If applicable, add error logs.

No error in logs, it's just doing what its told, turn off floodlight after 30 minutes or whatever timeframe you select but this was not happening before, it always stayed on(its what I need)

Device Firmware

1.0.1.1 build 240617 Up to date for the C100_5642

Integration Version

6.0.9 the last one that was working I think was 6.0.4, the first I tried

Using stream component

Yes

Does camera work via official integrations?

N/A

Camera has all attributes filled out in developer tools

Yes

HASS Environment

Headless Raspberry Pi5 using M.2 Nvme 256gb SSD

Yes

Additional information

I am neither a software guru nor HA guru, I manage to stumble by doing the monkey see monkey do sort of thing, I search read and put into practice. Pretty good with windows but Linux takes me a bit and reminds me of MS dos that I started on.

Are you using Home Assistant stream component?
Not sure but everything was working fine before and I changed nothing other than the update, so I suppose yes

There wasn’t too much changed between versions. Especially nothing on this. Try rolling back to previous version and see if it works.

I think I have found the problem, first I went back to 6.0.4 and things were the same so I uninstalled everything concerning Tapo on PC, HAOS and my Android phone and started again from scratch. It took me a few hours but I think I found the problem. When I did a fresh install from scratch the way I had done things originally, first on phone then HAOS and then 6.0.4 things worked again OK, I updated again the last 2 versions and it was trashed again, that led me to think something was not right maybe with the update or the settings. Anyway I found the problem eventually, I deleted all again and went through step by step checking the configuration and settings after each install/upgrade, what I found was that the only thing that had changed was the Night mode was activated, therefore after the 30 minute setting the floodlight went off in order for the infrared to video in night mode and that was the problem, it had even changed on my phone for some reason. How or why I do not know but Night mode was set somewhere by something, when I turned it back to daylight mode I'm back to normal or at least I have had it running 2 hours without the floodlight switching off.

To change Night mode to daylight mode
Enter the app on phone
tap on the camera you wish to connect
at the bottom of the image are 4 icons
1080P
A moon or sun icon(for some reason this does not always show till you tap the screen again)
Camera nº 1/32>
speaker icon for volume control
Sun is Daylight mode, Moon is Night time mode, To select mode tap on the sun/moon Icon and select the one you want from the list.

Anyway, things are back to normal for now(touch wood) thanks for providing this addon, its far better being able to watch the print progress with the image in the top corner of the screen when your working on the computer than having to open the printer and check every few minutes, or if your using it to monitor a baby or whatever. Thank you.
