The primary artifact of this repository is a work of creative writing in the README.md file, not the config.toml file.

I recommend checking out and contributing to evil-helix if you insist on trying to use Helix with Vim-like bindings.

On the other hand, if all you want is a stable, declarative, reproducible (unbreakable?) NeoVim configuration, this has been possible for a while now with NixVim - you can look at my configuration as a starting point.
