In the timeline view, gif emojis and profile pictures should raise the adaptive refresh rate so that the animations play properly. However this does not appear to be the case.
To reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Go to home timeline (or any timeline)
Put a gif profile picture or emoji in view
Stop scrolling
Expected: gif should continue playing
Actual: gif does not play (since adaptive refresh rate gets lowered)
Does this happen in the official app?
Does this issue also occur with the respective upstream release?
No
Screenshots and screen recordings
I made the original bug for this in Megalodon a while ago but forgot to forward it to Moshidon. sk22#962
If applicable, add screenshots (and screen recordings, if possible) to help explain your problem.
Unfortunately I dont think a screen recording is possible since I believe a screen recording will force a fixed refresh rate.

oh actually looking at my last issue I have a screen recording there. thought that wouldn't work but past me was smarter than current me, and tried anyway!
Here's an updated video on Moshidon (ignore weird artifacting, had to run it through ffmpeg to shrink filesize):
