Portal-in-a-Box #89
Comments
how did you get the eyes of eldritch to make the portal in a box to start with ? |
I used a Diabolist Fork on Eldritch Guardians, imprinted a crystal and put it in a Wrath Cage, turned ender pearls into Alienis essentia and spawned in a ton of guardians, used a MFR grinder to kill them. |
I noticed while testing the Portal In A Box in creative mode, that they seem to need to be 22 blocks apart, center to center. I made a 10x70 grass platform (only 1 thick), and placed one PIAB. Then, kept scootching away until I could place another, then used the Bibliocraft tape measure to check the spacing of the obelisks. Center on one then on the other told me 22 blocks. |
It really should recognize when an old one is gone. Also, it digs into bedrock when it spawns, and cuts off anything below Y=0 height. It in my opinion should spawn a minimum of it's actual height above the bedrock, and I also would like to note, that 22 wide apart is counting all the way to sky limit. I built a creative mode one via Portal in a Box, used at Y=2, it overwrote the bedrock and voided the bottom half of the structure, so I tried to build one in the next chunk over, I built a 12×70×12 platform of dirt (12 wide, 12 long, 70 high), used a new Portal in a Box, nothing. |
at least it isnt like when you use the portal in a box it doesnt spawn you into a void which happened to me... I gave up with that and went with the gadomacy route and just cheat the ancient stone stuff it requires |

Agrarian Skies 2 v1.1.4 mod pack
I used the Portal-in-a-box to create Eldritch Altar and it worked fine, but I decided that it was too close to my base and destroyed it. I made a new Portal-in-a-box and a new platform 15x15 grass with 7 layers of dirt (then 7 replaced the bottom with 7 layers of cobble). It won't create a new altar, I tried in the previous location and it will not make one there either. There is no error that I can see, it just doesn't seem to function again.
