Thank you for your reply... I'll meet you inbetween Another easy one is this one Here's a link to a demo that no longer launches from igame using WBRun But either way, the demo won't run, i can open a shell and type that command and the demo runs perfect. The one about the .EXE not working might be me |
@IvanEBC About the Dust demo, and any other that needs to pass some arguments, this is something that iGame doesn't support so far. Maybe this could be resolved with a script which will run the demo from the WB with a double click, and maybe iconx as its tool. This script should also be executable and this should be the one to add in iGame. About the Alchimie7 demo, you don't need to have the WBRun in the demo folder. This needs to be in your C. iGame actually tries to use WBRun from the generic path of commands, like C, and run this esecutable, like For the Alice Copper check again if the above cover it. I haven't tested them yet, so to have a more clear idea on what is broken. Will try to do it this week and get back to you. |
Since ones with WBRun are populated throughout, and mind you , these ALL used to work under previous igame versions, i don't quite know which version it changed (might have been as early as v1.6) let's see if i can work through this with you. I i wrote a lot of stuff, but I'm simply not feeling well so I'm going to avoid this for now, needless to say, i didn't have much success, i removed WBrun and turned on "script" on the icon as executable was already ticked, no difference. |
@IvanEBC Don't worry. you don't need to do anything with it now. Leave it to me and I will find the problem. Take care of yourself and I will do the investigation. If there is a problem, I will fix it and a new release will come. One last question though. Which AmigaOS are you using and which version? Is it a distribution like ClassicWB or Amikit? |
On Amiga 4000/060/66 - OS3.9 (Soon to be OS3.2 - await shipments) i think its BB1 and 2 but not 3 and 4. |
@IvanEBC A few days ago I released a new version of iGame. Can you please check this one with your setup and let me know how it works? |
Hey ... sorry about the delay Please note: what I'm about to report was ONLY tried in WINUAE right now. Let me know if you want this test to extend to a real Amiga since i previously reported that WinUAE had issues but it did work on a real Amiga. I tried running metropolice.exe from a previously made entry into igame. It didn't run. Snoopdos shows it looked for metrepolice.info (no matter, there isn't an icon for it anyways) and failed twice to find it and then say OK on metreopolice.exe, but nothign happens. The full snoopdos line being Thoughts? |
I have a minor addition to add as i discovered a smmll quirk, solution... not quite but may help to understand what's happening. I found some some demos would run from igame, others not, these are NOT WHDload games but rather single/multi file exe demos. I used beats by Loveboat to test my theory as i tried working out why some worked and others didn't. It's to do with an icon. If a demo had NO ICON, it didn't work. It never had one and doesn't need one to run via workbench/Dopus. Thank you. |
@IvanEBC Thank you so much for that info. Every detail matters. I hope the new release will not be far away. |
I should point it too sorry…All my current testing is in winuae as I test and set things up in there before moving to my 1200/4000Ivan ***@***.*** 3 May 2023, at 19:14, George Sokianos ***@***.***> wrote:

I am working on something that will be available in the next release that will solve things like that, I hope.
I will get that demo as a test item and see if what I am building will help or not.
I hope the new release will not be far away.

No worries. WinUAE is pretty fine, as long as I am able to reproduce them, so I can fix them. |
Hi Guys.
Thanks for your continued support of this fantastic software.
Personally i used this to run demos and games easily and with a nice frontend, it didn't need to be WHDLoad.
Previously (I can't say when it stopped working) I have titles like of "game.slave", but also had "game.exe" or "WBRun demo.exe" but found out few days abck that the WBRun demos/game no longer work and i think due to the space in the name, also means that the previously working igame.iff no longer works.
Also the straight up .exe ones do not work either, i'm able to use the new feature "open game folder" and run it directly, but kinda defeats the purpose a little.
Did something change? or something broken?, i don't imagine tooo many people doing it this way and ONLY use it for WHDLoad stuff.
Thanks for any info ....
OH.. this is an Amiga 4000/060, igame060.exe, OS3.9 (Tested my image on WINUAE too with same result).
Thank you.
