Emebedded links in pdf not working in OpenBoard

If I import a pdf file with active links to web pages, they are not active in OpenBoard (i.e., I cannot click on them and open the corresponding [external] browser page). Am I doing something incorrect?
I am using OpenBoard 1.7.3 on Ububtu 24.10

The PDF renderer used when importing a PDF document to the board cannot interpret links. So in Board mode links in PDF documents will not work.

I don't know whether this helps you in your workflow, but what works is the following:

• Go to Internet mode to show the embedded browser.
• Open the PDF document in the browser. You may e.g. drag a PDF document from your file manager to the board or click on a link on a web page with a link to the PDF document.
• The PDF document is then opened in the PDF browser embedded in the web browser engine. In this mode, links in PDF documents will work. However in this mode you cannot annotate, so I'm not sure whether this helps.
• If you opened the document from the Internet, then you can also click the topmost button in the Internet mode toolbar to create a web app widget. You then get a widget on the board, which contains the PDF document and where the links will work. But also this mode cannot be compared to an imported PDF. And: This does not work with local PDF files.

Thanks for the quick and precise answer. Unfortunately it is not exactly what I was looking for: Indeed I was exactly asking if it was possible to display (and annotate) a pdf, while being also able to click on a link and be directed to a web browser.

From your answer, I tend to believe it is not (yet?) possible....
