The Why
I love open-source, and seeing people contribute to open-source projects is amazing. With Ozone, I've seen firsthand how cool it is to have developers from across the world collaborate on code together and create things that one couldn't do alone. I want that to continue!
How we can do this
Ozone is now quite stable and fulfills its original purpose quite well, but I want the package and the Ozone community to continue growing.
There is a lot of potential for spinoffs from Ozone - a Javascript Ozone package or a Dart Ozone package, to tap into the world of web/mobile development. Such packages would be more or less direct translations of Ozone's Python repo. We could create a CLI interface to access Ozone (@lahdjirayhan came up with this idea), a web app to interactively see Ozone data or a package to visualize air quality data with ease.
What we can do
All of these spinoffs would require their own repository. The best method that I can think of to create repos for spinoffs but still have them directly associated with the OG Ozone Python package, is to create an overarching Ozone-Package 'organization' and host separate repos under it.
I'm currently planning to conduct this change in exactly one week's time, to allow for plenty of time for contributors to become aware of the shift.
