Biofactoid provides a unique opportunity to have authors directly contribute pathway and interaction information to the Pathway Commons resource.

Description of new feature

This feature should:

  1. Make visitors to the site aware that they can directly contribute pathway and interaction data to PC data (via Biofactoid)
  2. Provide a low-barrier entrypoint for interested authors to add their paper (via Biofactoid)

Motivation for new feature

There is the potential for a positive feedback loop involving users of the PC Search who contribute their articles, which increases the value of the resource by improving the scope of coverage.

An important point to emphasize is to focus on what a user can do -- contribute their own paper's results -- rather than how they might accomplish this -- through a curation tool Biofactoid. In all liklihood, not many will know (or care) about Biofactoid per se.

Details

An empty POST to Biofactoid /api/document is possible, and generates a link to the curation tool, where the title, name, email can be 'filled in':
