Description

Q: What is the name of the feature?

A: Profile page for contributor

Q: What does this feature enable the user to do?

A: This supports tracking an author's contributions. It also serves as another avenue for authors to make subsequent contributions as well as referrals to other authors, as in #1057. Also display author-centred information (websites, Twitter).

Q: What information must the user provide to use the feature?

A: Contributor would have to disambiguate themselves as an author at submission time (as in #1056)

Q: What are the applicable constraints, e.g. compatibility or performance?

A: The disambiguation record supplied by the contributor should have an ORCID accession.

Q: How does this feature affect each class of user (persona)?

The attempt here is to provide a easy to understand 'sense of place': Here's where I go to see my work, what I've done and what I might want to do (i.e. add another of my articles).

Specification

Mockup

Person-centric page

Details

Ideally, a simple version of this profile would be generated 'on-the-fly', avoiding the need to store this data. For instance, in the mockup:

  • Person details (name, institution, websites, social) are available from ORCID public API (/record)
  • Biofactoid contributions could be drawn from contributor info stashed in document, provided info (ORCID) (e.g. Slim "Add my article" form  #1056)

Getting other article that could be added, those added by co-authors is a bit more involved but could be drawn from Biofactoid, PubMed (search by Identifier), ORCID etc.
