If a user follows the instructions in the README to install ctdcal using pip, the install will complete successfully, but ctdcal will fail to run with missing dependencies.

Prior to v1.0 release, test the build process using test-pypi and verify all requirements are satisfied. Update the README if needed for accurate installation instructions.

The issue can be reproduced on MacOS and Windows.

A suggestion for a first step is to migrate fully to pyproject.toml and remove both the setup.py and setup.cfg files.
