Environment

- **Platform:** Kumano
- **Device:** Bahamut, but likely griffin as well
- **Sailfish OS Version:** 4.5.0.24
- **Kernel version:** 4.14.314
- **Droid-Hal Version:** any
- **Droid-System Version:** any
- **Software binaries version:** SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_11_4.14_v9a_kumano.img, but irrelevant

Previously working on

None AFAIK

Description

Opening submenus under the Settings app takes around one second for them to be displayed and the UI feels generally slow but very smooth (that is, it takes time to load things but keeps a solid 60+ FPS basically everywhere).

Compared to the tama port though, these differences are fairly noticeable, especially on the lock screen where kumano takes a disappointing 4 seconds to unlock.

To rule out any OS version issue, according to seine/lena users this issue is not present on their devices.

Below you can see the difference in unlock times between akatsuki (left) and bahamut (right). Both are running 4.5.0.24 on top of Android 11 base and 4.14.314.

Symptoms

See above.

How to reproduce the bug

  1. Just run and use the system
  2. Compare it with a tama/seine/lena
  3. Cry in a corner

Additional context

Two likely irrelevant things:

  • Tama shows this at startup, but kumano does not:

    Sep 09 03:01:20 XperiaXZ3 lipstick[2824]: == hwcomposer module ==
    Sep 09 03:01:20 XperiaXZ3 lipstick[2824]: * Address: 0x79a8b73660
    Sep 09 03:01:20 XperiaXZ3 lipstick[2824]: * Module API Version: 3
    Sep 09 03:01:20 XperiaXZ3 lipstick[2824]: * HAL API Version: 0
    Sep 09 03:01:20 XperiaXZ3 lipstick[2824]: * Identifier: hwcomposer
    Sep 09 03:01:20 XperiaXZ3 lipstick[2824]: * Name: QTI Hardware Composer Module

  • There are some libraries appearing as missing on kumano:

    Dez 09 13:51:10 Xperia5 lipstick[3051]: library "libutils.so" not found
    Dez 09 13:51:10 Xperia5 lipstick[3051]: library "libcutils.so" not found
    Dez 09 13:51:10 Xperia5 lipstick[3051]: library "libhardware.so" not found
Dez 09 13:51:10 Xperia5 lipstick[3051]: library "[email protected]" not found
Dez 09 13:51:10 Xperia5 lipstick[3051]: library "[email protected]" not found
Dez 09 13:51:10 Xperia5 lipstick[3051]: library "[email protected]" not found
    Dez 09 13:51:10 Xperia5 lipstick[3051]: library "libc++.so" not found
    Dez 09 13:51:10 Xperia5 lipstick[3051]: library "libion.so" not found

Checking in /system and the droid-hybris folder shows that these libraries are actually present; this output does not appear on tama.

FYI, @mlehtima has verified that something similar to this is present on lena (it takes 2-3 seconds to unlock).

Using community-encryption (which the tama was also using) completely gets rid of the lock screen issue on kumano.
