Markets locale looks outdated in the documentation

Hello,
I am new to Hydrogen and tried to implement my first project
During the initialisation i followed the step and choose: Select a URL structure to support multiple markets: Subfolders (example.com/fr-ca/...)
Then i tried to follow the documentation in order to make a countrie selector i follow all the previous step here: https://shopify.dev/docs/storefronts/headless/hydrogen/markets but it look like there is many thinks already done or outdated
In the end i am not able to make it work, is there some updated documentation or can someone help me know which step i should not do
