Nearly all of the Troll Caves are under the thornlands:

What You Expected

Troll Caves should not be trapped under thorns.

What Happened Instead

Troll Caves generate under Thornlands.

Additional Details

The troll caves were trolling a bit too hard.

Anyways, this doesn't prevent progression, just makes it annoying
