I just downloaded and ran gpth (Windows) on my Takeout folder.

Input was in C:\Users\John\Downloads\takeout-20241120T125650Z
Output was to C:\Users\John\Downloads\takeout-20241120T125650Z-gpth

The process completed without errors and I have an ALL_PHOTOS folder with year/month subfolders, and Album folders with symbolic links in them, as expected.

However all the symbolic links in the Album folders seem incorrect. For example C:\Users\John\Downloads\takeout-20241120T125650Z-gpth\Trip to France\2017\12\IMAG0382.jpg has as its target C:\ALL_PHOTOS\2017\12\IMAG0382.jpg which does not exist.

What did I do wrong?

Many thanks

John

I also have this issue.

Either something went wrong, or the tool expects everything to be in the root directory of C:.
I keep my photos on D: and yet all symlinks point to C:\ALL_PHOTOS\ and not D:\Photos\Google takeout\Combined\ALL_PHOTOS.

In addition, all the .json files were left behind, but I'm not sure if that's expected behavior or indication that something went really wrong somewhere.

.json files are ment to be left, because why would you need them as a normal, mortal human

i'll look into albums issue when i have time 🤞
