Besides the very obvious to make sure to disconnect or isolate the battery before soldering and use heat shrink to make sure nothing is shorted after soldering. The only thing I would add is to solder the leads flat on the PCB facing the 'wrong way' bend them and add a dab of hot glue to act as strain relief. Otherwise pulling the pads of is probably a bit too easy. |

Hi,
Had the Lotus for about a year now, and I've been loving every minute.
The quality of the prebuilt kit by Markus is really top notch, as well as the whole overall design.
However, lately I've been getting into printing a custom case and tenting kit for the keyboard. My current idea is to preserve the bottom plate and PCB, and print a shell to encompass them and replace the top plate. With that comes the cutout for access to the controller and the idea to desolder the current battery switch and replace it with a mini-toggle switch (Fig. 1).
Is there anything I should keep in mind when buying or soldering the switch?
