Hello.

I am on a steamdeck and want to use the physically steam controller when playing with steam.
when playing via epic and or other apps I want to use the virtual x360 controller.
this works great with the new "hybrid" mode.

But need the desktop mode for normal handling, browsing, installing games, etc...
And whenever i start an App (steam or epic or something else), I need to manually disable the desktop mode and reactivate it when closing the app.

Is there a way to automate this?
(maybe some profiling...?)

:)
thank you

You could configure the Default profile Layout with the Desktop template and then make profiles for all your games.

hello and thank you for the answer.

but that did not work.
I like the desktop mode because I can handle the backbuttons for quick menus/settings.
additnderionally in "hybrid" mode, handheld companion automatically switch to physically steam controller, when starting any steam related games.

I just need to activate desktop mode when outside big picture and deactivate when inside big picture.
I have to do this manually, which is kind of annoying.
and I wonder why this did not happend automatic.

HC can switch to mute virtual controller and activate the physical controller when starting a steam app or entering pig picture.
but hell, why not deactivate desktop mode too when in Steam?
