The search text in the white search box at the top of Steam BPM should be cleared every time I enter the search box, unless I've interacted with it very recently (say, 5 minutes). The search box being pre-filled is a bad surprise UX wise and has confusing and annoying consequences.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Search for something in the library
Come back 2 hours, days, or weeks later
Search for something else
Notice that the old search from 2 days ago was still in the box, and therefore your search results are wrong or (usually) nothing shows up
Get annoyed
Try to edit it out using Steam Deck's rudimentary editing tools
Get annoyed
