As I was translating this lesson plan to Chinese Traditional, I noticed some content may be outdated or could be improved.

1. Homepage display setting in Settings > General

No, It seems like Home page display settings showing correctly. Please see screenshot.

On other hand, as per the edit mentioned in the doc it seems better way of writing.

Go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading. Set the homepage display to static and select the published page as Homepage

2. Create APP - REST API plugin

Yes, it seems the plugin itself outdated. It is updated 7 years ago and not even tested with the latest 3 major release of Wordpress.
