Lower clock frequency

I am trying to use a lower clock frequency than 240 MHz in one of the code examples from this repository to save power, but I am failing to communicate with the modem then. Is it possible to lower the frequency, and low can I go? What do I need to do except lowering the frequency?

Set the CPU frequency before setup, and do not change it at runtime.
