Describe the Issue

I’m having an issue with my MG losing connection to the integration throughout the day. I think the problem might be that the update interval for the gateway is too long. I’ve already reduced it from 60 minutes to 30 minutes, but it’s still not stable. Interestingly, when using the MQTT integration, the connection doesn’t drop at all.

The thing is, I’m hesitant to reduce the interval even further because I’m worried about draining the car battery.

Do you have a tip for me on how much I can increase the interval? Thanks for your hard work!

Hi @paswotz

I believe this is not a bug or an issue from the integration, but an issue with your actual vehicle or the response from the API. Having mind that sometimes the vehicle/api replies with unrealistic values and those are discarded, which may seem as a connection dropout.

Without logs to tell what's happening I cannot really tell what might be the issue.

I have had similar issues, but probably not always the same cause. The service seems quite fragile! I'm located in Australia and have an MG ZS EV.

On one occasion I checked iSmart app and it was also failing - problem with SAIC server?
Another occasion I checked iSmart app, it worked ok, then the integration starred working again immediately after (forcing the app to log out)
Another occasion I manually reloaded the integration and it started working again

Hi,

I believe the issue for that is on the MG side. I have been seeing quite some update errors on my end as well, both on the integration and on iSmart.

Keep in mind that thiis is a direct link to the same server that the app uses, so if it does not work, the problem is on MG server or on the link to the car on their side.

Unfortunately, on that end, I cannot do anything more.
