Feature-suggestion: Service to online change PID parameters

Thank you for your smart thermostat! Currently using it in my setup.

Modifying configuration.yaml requires a restart of HASS, making it quite tedious to hand-tune the PID values (autotune does not work for me).

Can I suggest a service method to update PID values online? I tried to implement it myself but was unsuccessful, as I don't know the HASS architecture enough.
I would create a few input sliders/boxes, pass the values through described service and directly observe how the PID controller reacts, without having to restart everything first. :)

I planned to do that once I have time. Unfortunately, I didn't get to do it. Can't tell when I'll have it done, however looking forward to do it in dec.
