I think I have most of the lineno stuff in the syntax, mine looks quite a bit different

@tj line numbers were always showing up for me, whereas this hides them unless hovered or selected

no worries if no merging - perhaps we can add a list of customisations to the readme, linking to issues like this, for other people's modding benefits
