demo_showcandidate freezes screen

Hi,

I am trying to use demo_showcandidate.py to check if it recognizes the bounding box for a specific object that I am targeting. When I run the command the image opens and after setting the parameters(using the default) and hitting run the demo_showcandidate box turns black and white and the screen freezes. I am not able to use any other applications or even move the cursor. The only way of killing it is if I turn off my laptop using the power button and I do not see the output but I see a using of a deprecated package in scikit-image for gaussian filters. Do you know any solution to this or the reason why it is happening? I am using Ubuntu 16.04 and Python 3.5. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Any luck with this? I am encountering the same issue. Ubuntu 16.04 and Python 3.4.4
