First off, thanks for taking the time to contribute! ❤️
The most valuable contribution to this project is your help with making the redo log parser better. To achieve this goal we need your help in verification of the work.
And if you like the project, but just don't have time to contribute, that's fine. There are other easy ways to support the project and show your appreciation, which we would also be very happy about:
- Star the project
- Tweet about it
- Refer this project in your project's readme
- Mention the project at local meetups and tell your friends/colleagues
- Make a financial contribution to the author
Please refer to the Issue template for details or just send e-mail to the author.
When contributing to this project, you must agree that you have authored 100% of the content, that you have the necessary rights to the content and that the content you contribute may be provided under the project license.
Please refer to bug submission template for details.
The biggest value for the project (apart from financial contribution to the author) is just using OpenLogreplictor in production environment with actual real data. The nature of the project is that it is a parser for database transaction logs. For legal and privacy reasons, the test cases with test data are not part of the project. But they are run before each release and are part of the project's test suite.
Provide test scripts (like SQL) or test data (like database transaction logs) with a description of what is expected - if the program does not work as you expect it to work. Such test data can be used for regression testing and will be part of the project.
The target users of the project are companies who would like to use it for production. If you have a business case and see a justification for spending resources for a new feature, please discuss that with the author. If you have an idea for just adding work for the author - just because you know how he can spend his time better, please don't bother yourself.
This project is created in free time and is not sponsored by any company. If you would like to support the project financially, you can do so by sending a donation to the author.
