Since version 0.9.x Bioboxes is using it's own types in the yaml format. With further intefaces following the format 0.9.x, the definitions will be repeated in every document.
The first two steps for an easy extendable RFC are:
As mentioned by @fungs : Enumerate the types we are using (fasta, fastq,...) in one central "definitions" document so that the interfaces link them. An update of one type in a "definitions" document would directly be available for all interfaces. When we have all types in one document it should be easier to update them regarding the EDAM ontology.
We should move yaml definitions that are used by all interfaces to the "generic container definition":
