[HW Accel Support]: After enabling iGPU passthrough, lots of errors that appear to kill and restart threads

Describe the problem you are having

I recently enabled iGPU passthrough for the Proxmox VM; Ever since, I keep getting error messages indicating that all the cameras fail to read the frames from ffmpeg process, it fails to sync surface, fails to download from, and has an Input/output error.

HP ProDesk 400 G4 (Intel i5-8500t 6C6T, 32GB RAM)
  Proxmox 8.2.7 - Linux 6.8.12-3-pve
    Ubuntu 24.04.1 VM (5 cores)
      Docker Compose
        Frigate 0.15.0-33825f6

However, since enabling the iGPU passthrough, I have noticed that the General Metrics page has been slower than normal, which may be a separate issue.

If I stop passing through the iGPU, the error messages in question stop appearing.

You may want to try using preset-intel-qsv-h264 instead of vaapi

Thank you for getting back to me.
Previously, when on 0.15 beta1, When I used the preset-intel-qsv-h264 none of the camera streams would work.
I have since upgraded to 0.15 beta2 and now that I am using preset-intel-qsv-h264, the two amcrest cameras are working, but my reolink video doorbell is not when using that preset.

However, when I set just the reolink camera to hwaccel_args: preset-vaapi ... the doorbell camera works again.
So I'm not sure if there's something wrong with how the doorbell firmware presents the streams or if there is something different with how frigate is trying to interpret the streams.

Yeah that is consistent with what other users have said about the reolink doorbell as well.

ah ok. Well, that's fine. Now that the reolink doorbell is on vaapi and the others on the newer qsv preset, there are no longer any errors in the logs at the moment. Didn't realize I'd have to split out the hwaccel options for each camera.
