I do have the onboard autotracking enabled... I wonder if this is causing a conflict? I have excluded person and car from the config and I am using the onboard to track cars and humans... |

Also, what hardware are you running Frigate on? When zooming (either relative or absolute) is enabled, autotracking will use a fair amount of CPU on older/underpowered systems. |

Perhaps that's it. Does a car or a person appear in the camera's view when Frigate is autotracking the dog? If so, that will definitely cause conflicts. |

I'm running frigate on a Dell Optiplex mini i7 with 32gb of ram.. Frigate is the only thing loaded on it. When I walked out with the dog, the onboard would pick me up and track with no issue... I changed to "relative" zoom and give it some time to run. If I have to I can disable the autotrack in frigate and use the onboard. As you said, the onboard is pretty impressive. |

If a person is walking their dog and comes into the camera frame, for example, you'll definitely end up with conflicts between the firmware autotracking and Frigate's autotracking. Maybe there's some kind of programmatic way to disable the firmware's autotracking. I know Dahuas have an HTTP API but I don't know if this is possible. If it is, you could use this MQTT topic to trigger off the firmware autotracking when Frigate is already autotracking something. Then, if a Or, you could just exclusively use Frigate's autotracking. It's not going to be nearly as smooth as the firmware's, but you'll certainly avoid any conflicts that way and still be able to track everything you're wanting to beyond people and cars. |

My main purpose for the camera at the moment is for I will keep playing with the PTZ cam and see I can figure out. Thanks for all your help!! |
