Importing Creatures
There are four ways to get creature data into ASB:
- If you play single-player or have direct access to the saved .ark file use savegame importing
- If you play on Steam use Ark exports
- You can give OCR a try, which has its own page here
- Typing values in manually
All methods except savegame importing require correct server multipliers to be setup and correct.
Can only be used if you play single-player or have direct access to the .ark save file.
Configure the location of your savegames in Settings Import Savegame tab.
If necessary, force a save in-game with the command saveworld
or cheat saveworld
.
Activate the import using the File->Import from Savegame menu entry.
Steam only.

Ark can create an export file that ASB can read, even if you play on a server.
- Walk up to a creature in Ark, open it's control wheel (default hold
E
) and select Options, then Export Dino. - Note: If you play on a server and want ancestry and mutation data included, you must click Show Ancestors in the creature's inventory before exporting. Note: This info is only visible once the parents, grandparents, etc., are imported.
- In the Settings Import Exported tab, point it to your export folder. The exact folder can be found by right-clicking ARK in your Steam-library -
Properties
-Local Files
-Browse local files
, then go to the subfolderShooterGame\Saved\DinoExports\<id>
. The full path will be something like:<Drive>:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\DinoExports\<steam id>
<Drive>:\Program Files (x86)\ArkGame\ArkGameData\ShooterGame\Saved\DinoExports\<steam id>
- Import the export using the File->Import exported Creatures
You can import the last exported folder by clicking on Import last exported
. There's also the possibility to auto-import exported creatures if you enable the according setting.
