Dolby Vision now supported natively by FastFlix ? #501
-
Hi ! Was doing some testing around codecalamity DoVi howto and found out that FastFlix can now reencode DoVi with no specific x265 params or ffmpeg options. Is it true or is there a trick fooling me ? Here's mediainfo for 3 test files I just encoded with default settings except 12M bitrate. Test file 1 before:
Test file 1 after: (hidden bit rate, don't know why but according to file size it's indeed 12MB/s)
Test file 2 before:
Test file 2 after:
Test file 3 before:
Test file 3 after:

Yes, FFmpeg now seems to support Dolby Vision, without any fanfare or release notes I have seen about it. It's actually causing an issue leaving some of that data in if I do manually remove HDR 😆 #384 |

There are some *Synth scripts that performs "Polynomial luma mapping, MMR chroma mapping on base layer. NLQ 12 bits restoration from enhancement layer": Hope that helps or inspires. |
