text entry prefix (e.g. "dprompt") only shows up after resizing a terminal window

I've got a pretty bog-standard prezto + garrett setup (and I'm loving it!) but I've bumped into a few bugs.

This one seemed weird: when entering multiline text (e.g. an open-quote string), I only see the beginning-of-line text (e.g. "dprompt") after I resize the window:

Thank you. Yes, this is the same issue - I hadn't tried to resize my window, but doing that does render the dprompt.

Any idea what might cause this? Anything I can provide to help debug the issue?
