I was hoping to get some clarification on the reporting of the edit distance of SNAP alignments. I am looking at one of the files that ends in *NT.snap.matched.fl.Primates.annotated. In the SAM header in the field next to RG:Z:FASTQ, is that the edit distance? I see values such as 00 and 09. In other words, if I cut the lines of the annotated SAM file and choose field # 14, is that the edit distance? Thank you.
