Overview

Description

Power

Power

+5V (center positive) must be provided at plug J1.

VCCO_HP powers the banks 33, 34 and 35 of the Zynq device. 1.5V or 1.8V can be selected using the switch J19 (botton side of the board). Banks HA and HB of the FMC HPC connector are connected to the banks 33 and 34. The differential clocks 2 and 3 from the FMC connector, the 8 GPIOs and the signals FAN_PWM and VADJ_EN are connected to the bank 35.

VCCO_HR (VADJ) powers the banks 12 and 13 of the Zynq device. The banks LA of the FMC connector is connected to the banks 12 and 13. The differential clocks 0 and 1 from the FMC connector, and the LED_OK and LED_ERR indications, are connected to the bank 12. The FMC present signal, the digital isolated I/Os, the 485 enable signal, and ports for HDMI, EMIO_UART and CAN, are connected to the bank 13. VADJ value is based on the TPS563209 (U8) switching regulator and its voltage can be set by changing the feedback resistor through a digital I2C (address 0x2F at I2C1) potentiometer MCP4017T-503E/LT (U10). The table shows the resistance values that must be set in the potentiometer to achieve the desidered voltage, where 2.3V is the Power On Reset value. Is suggested to turn off the regulator before setting the new feedback value. This can be achieved with the VADJ_EN signal present in the J15 pin of the FPGA. Also, to ensure stability, the maximum capacitive load in VADJ is 38uF.

FMC HPC connector

FMC HPC

The CIAA-ACC board supports the VITA 57.1 FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC) specification by providing subset implementations of the high pin count (HPC) connector at J5.

The connections between the HPC connector at J5 and AP SoC U1 implements:

  • 160 single-ended or 80 differential user-defined signals.
  • 3 GTX transceivers and 1 GTX clock.
  • 4 differential clocks.
  • 1 Present signal (PRSNT_M2C_L).
  • 1 Powergood signal (PG_C2M): connected to the POWERGOOD signal of the TPS65400 (U9), which indicates that all voltages are at the right level.
  • 159 ground and 9 power connections.
    • 3.3v: 3A
    • VADJ: 2A
    • 12V: Not implemented.
    • VIO_B_M2C: Not implemented.
  • I2C interface: connected to the SMBUS (I2C0 at PS part).
  • JTAG: the switch J20 (under the FMC connector) is used to include (1-2) or exclude (2-3) the FMC card in the chain.

Troubleshootings

  • My CIAA-ACC board appears as a mass storage device called CRP DISABLD when connected to J8.
    • Check that jumper in JP3 is removed.
    • If it is a new board, read here to change the default LPC11U35 firmware.
  • My CIAA-ACC board doesn't boot.
    • Check JP4, must be a 20 K resistor in 2-3 position.
