What application are you using?

ArcGIS

Describe the problem.

ROW Management is requesting the integration of ROW jurisdiction data (e.g., Austin, TXDOT, Travis, Williamson) into the Streets layer under the Additional Details section in ROWPACT. To facilitate this, we need to determine whether the required data resides in AGOL or DM, as this will influence the method of integration. Additionally, it would be helpful to identify if any filters should be applied to the existing datasets. The specific column from the Streets List (2020-12-30) dataset to be included is Main.Agency. The purpose of this integration is to optimize the permit review process by consolidating reference materials and reducing the need for external data sources.

Notes - Meeting with ROW

Zach, Tracy, Kyle, Paloma, Kim

Database. MAXPRODGIS Database
Feature Class. SBO_ADMIN.street_surface_assets

  • We understand that ROW wants to be able to see the ROW Agency on ROWPACT for each street segment.
  • Zach isn't confident that the source I quoted above is the best source, so he will speak to Andrew about this.
  • We scoped a few possible solutions for making the ROW agency data available for ROW permitting. The MVP is getting it in ROWPACT.
  • We briefly discussed how we might add this data point to the property profile used by AMANDA. That would be out of scope for this ticket, but something we could work on should ROW want to pursue it.
  • @ATD-ZachB could you please add any insight/takeaways as a comment here?

A quick Option would be to request that the Comprehensive Transportation Network (CTN) be included into ROWPACT/IMMPACT. This layer contains a great deal of requested information already as part of this data set.

Conversation with Andrew on the SBO_ADMIN.street_surface_assets does contain the most updated version of assets maintained by COA, but does not include any other agency. CTN could easily be QC'ed and checked against SBO_ADMIN.street_surface_assets to ensure that the CTN is completely updated and could be used.

Another option would be to request this field be added to CTM's street segment feature layer. This data would become available across many other applications if it where to be added but it would be a lengthy request as CTM would be doing the majority of the updating if this was done.

Kim/ROW is going to sync with management on the possible solutions and followup with us.
