[Feature Request] Disable automatic processing

It would be great to have a field such as "disable automatic processing" which would not touch any documents on a schedule or during startup. So if basically would do anything unless you are in manual mode or playground. Reason for this is you might want to test while refining the prompt.

Currently we can define tags to only work on certain documents, which is a great feature and stops the automatic processing, but which also makes us unable to work on these documents in manual mode or playground.

Thanks for the input. Yeah you are absolutly right with your wish to have a way to disable the automatic routine. I will re-structure the whole app in the coming days as I can put some more features into it that now would be a mess to integrate in the current state.

But you should be able to work on the documents with specific tags in manual and playground. But they are limited to the documents that have these tags.
So if I didnt got that wrong, would it be already enough when you can edit/test all documents in manual and playground? I could make a quick change so that automatic only is triggered when a document has a predefined tag but manual and playground ignore this rule.

Honestly, that's a good question I've also thought about.

On one hand, showing all docs in manual and playground mode would be an easy and quick fix for my current "problem."

On the other hand, I like that I have a limited subset of my documents there—ones I specifically selected for experimentation by applying the tag in Paperless. If I had all my documents there, I would probably lose track of things.

A potential solution that could address both issues would be having a toggle on this page, such as "only show documents tagged as 'ai-test'." This could either be hardcoded to reflect whatever is selected in the settings page or implemented as a flexible filter option.

Ok, I think in the end after all it will be more beneficial to just disable automatic processing completly.

upon further thinking I think the toggle on the playground or manual mode would actually be very beneficial regardless of the implementation of the originally requested feature. People might want to use automatic processing for some docs, but still like to work in manual mode or playground on other docs.

So in the end you could see this as a second feature request ;-)
