statics suggestion in elixir phoenix codebases

I keep getting the following failures:

Error: ./.../web.ex:105: statics ==> statistics

This comes from https://hexdocs.pm/phoenix/Phoenix.VerifiedRoutes.html#module-options, a popular enough package in Elixir that made me wonder.

What was the motivation for discouraging statics?

It's not a word, i.e. you won't find it in mainstream curated dictionaries.

My wrong. I thought statics was just the "plural" of the static adjective used as an abbreviation of static variables. I agree, statics should be removed or at the very least moved to the rare dictionary. A PR would be welcome!
