When using the internal importer "XBMC (local)" the 'release date'-feature is not supported. Instead 'release date' is filled with the date of the import. Check it, by unzipping and importing this nfo-file using the XBMC (local) scraper. 8.Mile.(2002).(1080p).(tt0298203).(ger).(eng).nfo.zip
The other option would be to add an option to use the 'year' instead of 'release date' in the Moving Pictures GUI.
Plz let me know if you need more info.
Thanks! Marco

It is the case that it's a separate field. But if the importer (local) does not support this feature, it is filled with 'date of import' ( now() ) . And this is what's shown in MP.
The year is actually imported correctly but there is no chance to show it in MP (except when getting movie info during play, usually 'y' button).
