I've had some weird issues trying to use a fight stick with the Virtual Boy and the N64.
For some strange reason certain mappings to the right analog stick wouldn't gel correctly when using blueretro.io
Thankfully I got them working despite blueretro.io not working for me.
The way I got around this problem was by using an Xbox adaptive controller which I was using anyway for my fight stick and I used the internal remapping features in the Xbox One and Series S and save them on the controller and carried them over to the Virtual Boy.
So as a help to other people if you don't know how to program the Xbox adaptive control but not the blue retro that would work just as well.
Second of all I don't know how specific my cases where the setting changes don't gel right.
I couldn't exactly figure out the directions between a Macintosh and Android and real life hardware modified to output to TV for the Virtual Boy.
If one had a PC what was the normal procedure and why for some strange reason when I was trying to program using Google Chrome on either Macintosh or Android that whenever you disconnect the Bluetooth connection from the computer or Android and then reconnect to the Virtual Boy it got lost in translation.
It's like when you unplug the Bluetooth connection from either the Macintosh or the Android and then connect it up to the Virtual Boy there's no memory for it to hold the inputs.
I don't know if it's something I'm doing wrong or I'm doing something wrong with it.. I'm only reporting it's cuz it might help out other people who don't have Xbox adaptive controllers. I don't know if I'm in a unique situation because I don't use a PC or whether other people have similar problems with a fight stick and no PC.
The only way I could get my fight buttons actuating analog sticks was using the Xbox adaptive controller and accessories app. There was no way I could get hyper fighting for Virtual Boy working with a retroonyx Virtual Boy Bluetooth adapter, except by using Xbox-specific features on my adaptive controller..
Just wanted to tell you guys that I could solve my own problems and I thought I'd throw out the information case other people are having similar trouble. You don't have to go solving it on my account at all.
Also offering this as a solution to people who can't figure out how to do blueretro.io right.
