Main Menu Not Appearing

After patching #267 by commenting out the assert causing the assert in ~Anura/src/custom_object_type.cpp:1717, à la

the main screen doesn't load and just remains stuck here:

To fix this, I've made a new Anura branch called argentum-age, which is forked from Anura right after the last commit to Citadel as of time of writing, but it should ideally be fixed so we don't need the branch - for example, the branch won't compile for Windows, so Steam releases won't work.

there's no corresponding anura issue, correct?
(we can survive without it, but just to know)
