The variety of SF Symbols started with 2,300 in 2019 and now, it's over 5,000.
Most of the symbols are intuitively named, but some of them are not.
Sometimes it is difficult to identify symbols with unfamiliar appearances only by name.
Many designers and developers from various countries have faced challenges more than expected.
Some people said that if they cannot find the desired symbol by search, they will check all of these more than 5,000 symbols one by one.
I made this with the hope that the difficulty of searching and memorizing each one would be alleviated.
This is the "SF Symbols Finder, which will help designers and developers who have had difficulty searching due to language and culture barriers when using SF symbols.
SF Symbols는 애플이 창작한 심볼 이미지로, 앱 내에 아이콘처럼 쓸 수 있어요.
2019년에 공개된 SF Symbols는 2300여 종류로, 현재는 그 수가 5천 개를 넘어갑니다.
대부분의 심볼들은 직관적으로 이름이 지어져 있지만, 몇 가지는 그렇지 않아요.
가끔 낯선 형태의 심볼들은 이름만으로는 식별하기 어려워요.
많은 애플 플랫폼의 디자이너, 개발자들은 생각보다 이러한 이유로 곤란해지는 일이 자주 일어나죠.
동료들에게 이럴 때 어떻게 하는지 물어보면, 특정 카테고리 안에서 찾아보고, 그래도 없으면 5천 개가 넘는 심볼을 일일이 찾아본다고 하더라고요.
이런 검색의 어려움과 아이콘의 이름을 쓸 때마다 기억해야 하는 어려움이 완화되었으면 좋겠다는 마음에 개발했습니다.
