Update documentation to clarify that Hue Cloud accounts are not supported #1061
Comments
Hi, we will make this in the docs. |
Running into this cloud account issue which is preventing me from adding my diyhue hub in the official iOS app (5.32.1). I don't have a "skip" button in my hue app to bypass and proceed without an account login. Is there any workaround for this? |
You can try to do it without Internet access. Otherwise you need to sideload the app on ios but then you need to have te previous version of the app. |
I had the same issue on android 5.32.0 : clean all cache and data and the skip button was there ! |
@seandotgee maybe you can also try to do what @TheLazyGeekGuy did |
@TheLazyGeekGuy @hendriksen-mark Thank you both! While there is no way to directly clean app data/cache in iOS....uninstalling the Hue app and rebooting the device, then reinstalling the hue app did the trick, the skip button appeared after that. |
Thank you for the feedback, now that it works i suggest to turn off autoupdate. |
I stumbled on a thread in Discord that says that you must not login into the official Hue app with your cloud credentials. By doing so it will prevent pairing. I could not find any information about this in the documentation. I fear many people, including myself have stumbled on this. I've included a few pics that could be used in the updated documentation. Btw, note the message on the last picture that says that Hue will eventually force a cloud login, what are the implications of that...
