Global Menu dynamic menu width

Would it be possible for each menu (and sub-menu) width be calculated dynamically based on the width of the contents, maybe up to an optional max width parameter? Currently, I either set it wide enough to see all the text I care about in one menu and every other menu has tons of empty space, or the text gets cut off if I go narrower.
